There are moments when the familiar begins to loosen before the new has fully revealed itself.
We are living through one of those thresholds now.
Old structures, identities and assumptions are being questioned. New possibilities are emerging, yet much of what is taking shape cannot be neatly named or understood from where we presently stand.
It can leave us feeling as though we are standing between worlds: aware that something is changing, while still learning how to meet it.
For many, this transition is not only philosophical or spiritual. It is being felt in the body, in relationships, in our sense of purpose, and in the ways we understand our place within the greater whole.
There may be uncertainty. Fatigue. Heightened sensitivity. A deeper questioning of what is true, what matters, and how we wish to live as the future continues to emerge.
The Threshold Guardians
The opening transmission of Year VIII invites us to explore our role within this passage.
Stewardship does not ask us to control humanity’s transition or carry responsibility for the whole world upon our shoulders.
It asks something quieter.
To become increasingly conscious of the quality of presence we bring into the places where life meets us.
To recognise that trust, compassion, discernment and coherence are not passive qualities. They participate in the field we share.
Trust becomes an offering.
Compassion becomes part of the architecture of what is emerging.
